Despite the Ruins 2001
(self-released, soon on Spirit of 1848 Records):
There are no bad songs on this album and almost all
of their songs are on this EP sans the covers.

This past Friday, Danny and I
took Catatonic Lydia's astonishing debut, Despite
the Ruins, up to the Radio 1190 studio and met with
Nick who does the show. Cool guy, it seems. We also
told him that Megan from Testosterone Detox already
had a copy of the disc but eh. As long as Catatonic
Lydia gets played when people are listening, that's
cool with me

This is awesome
Oh this has such a great
groove to it. It got me toe tapping. I really love
the vocals, at some parts it has a Jimi Hendrix
kinda tone to it, wich is awesome. The whole song
is interesting, I really enjoed it and will
deffinately be listening to it again.

Great Sound
The melody is original and
very pleasing. The arrangement is well thought out
and compliments the track. The rhythm is driving
and groovy. Each instrument is played at a high
level and mixed perfectly. This is a well
performed, greatly produced song.

Oh hell yeah!
Bring on the funk! That guitar
riff is awesome. The slap bass fits incredibly. The
production is also awesome, which you generally
don't hear from jazz-oriented groups. This is a
tune that I'm gonna listen to over and over again!

And all that Jazz!
A little free-form for yo ass!
I like the tone on the guitar and it's cool that
you use some funk style on the bass. Overall a good
track even though I don't usually like this stuff!
